Extend inSync only requires outbound access from the customer location to the inSync servers. Connections are established in clear traffic, and then transposed to a secure channel for the transfer of data between the inSync servers and the client.
In any location that allows outbound traffic inSync should work without any specific firewall configuration being applied. In locations that block outbound traffic, the following TCP ports will need to be opened to sync01.extendgroup.net:
